    FAQ

I need a reactive catalyst for low-emission automotive interior foam. Why choose MOFAN 50?

MOFAN 50 contains a hydroxyl group that reacts into the polyurethane matrix, permanently eliminating emissions.

My high-resilience foam has a slow recovery rate. How can MOFAN 50 improve resilience?

Use 0.2–0.4 phr; it promotes a more uniform crosslink density, improving resilience by 10–15%.

Can MOFAN 50 be used as a sole catalyst in cold-cure foam?

It can be used as the main catalyst (0.4–0.6 phr) but often requires a co-catalyst like MOFAN A1 to balance blowing.

What is the advantage of MOFAN 50 over Jeffcat ZR-50?

Equivalent performance; direct replacement at similar cost.

My polyurethane adhesive for shoe soles has inconsistent bond strength. Can MOFAN 50 help?

Yes, its reactivity ensures complete curing even in thin bond lines, giving reproducible strength.

Does MOFAN 50 cause any discoloration in white elastomers?

Very slight; it is much better than aromatic amines. Use with a UV stabilizer for outdoor white parts.

How can I formulate a zero-VOC rigid foam for appliance insulation?

Use MOFAN 50 (0.5 phr) as the only amine catalyst; no residual VOC after 24h post-cure at 60°C.

Is MOFAN 50 compatible with polyester polyols?

Yes, but avoid prolonged storage in acidic polyols (acid number >1).

My foam has surface collapse in a complicated mold. How to fix?

Increase MOFAN 50 by 0.05–0.1 phr to strengthen the gel before the blow peaks.

Can MOFAN 50 be used in polyurethane potting compounds for electronics?

Yes, its low outgassing makes it suitable for sensitive electronic encapsulation.
