    Description

MOFAN T-120 has higher catalytic activity than dibutyl tin dilaurate (T-12) and exhibits excellent hydrolytic stability. It is suitable for systems such as polyurethane rigid foam, microporous elastomers, coatings, adhesives, and sealants. It can be used alone or in combination with amine catalysts to adjust the balance between foaming and gelation.

    Application

Used as a strong gel catalyst for polyurethane foams, elastomers, coatings, adhesives and sealants.
Used as a heat stabilizer for PVC processing.
Used as an intermediate for organotin chemicals and polymer modification.

    FAQ

I produce polyurethane microcellular elastomers (shoe soles, integral skin). Why is T-120 preferred over T-12?

T-120 is a hydrolytically stable tin catalyst, giving better control over foaming and less sensitivity to moisture.

My rigid closed-cell spray foam has inconsistent cell structure. Can T-120 stabilize it?

Yes, its moderate activity and good water tolerance produce uniform fine cells; use 0.2–0.4 phr.

What is the advantage of T-120 for polyurethane shoe sole systems?

It provides a balanced rise and gel profile, reducing surface bubbles and improving demold (2–3 min at 50°C).

Does T-120 cause any staining on light-colored elastomers?

Less than tin octoate; but still may cause slight yellowing; use the minimum effective level.

My high-density rigid foam for flotation devices has poor compressive strength. How to improve with T-120?

Increase to 0.3–0.5 phr to raise crosslinking density; adjust isocyanate index accordingly.

Can T-120 be used in water-blown rigid foam systems?

Yes, it is more water-tolerant than DBTDL; typical dosage 0.15–0.3 phr.

What is the shelf life of MOFAN T-120 in an opened drum?

About 6 months if kept sealed and dry; it is less hygroscopic than T-9.

My polyurethane elastomer has poor hydrolysis resistance. Can T-120 help?

No, it does not improve hydrolytic stability; use a polycarbodiimide instead.

Is T-120 suitable for RIM (reaction injection molding) of automotive panels?

Yes, it gives fast cure and good release; typical level 0.1–0.2 phr.

How does T-120 compare to T-120?

    Equivalent product; direct replacement.
