    Description

Stannous oxalate, also known as tin oxalate or tin(II) oxalate in Chinese, appears as a white powder, soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid but insoluble in water. It is a relatively stable stannous raw material that, combined with halogens (X) provided by ammonium salts, can effectively replace unstable SnI2 and reduce oxidation during synthesis. The tin content in stannous oxalate is similar to that of monobutyltin oxide, and it exhibits high catalytic activity, making it widely used as a catalyst in the metallurgical field. As an environmentally friendly catalyst, stannous oxalate is also applicable in esterification reaction catalysts, coal hydrogenation catalysts, and the production of blueprint paper.

    Application

    • Used to synthesize saturated polyester resin.
    • Used in the production of unsaturated polyester resin.
    • Used for high temperature transesterification reactions.
