    Handling and storage

    USAGE PRECAUTIONS
Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes. Use this product in a well ventilated area, particularly as good ventilation is essential when PVC processing temperatures are maintained, and fumes from the PVC formulation require regulating.

    STORAGE PRECAUTIONS
Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Avoid: Water, moisture.

    FAQ

I manufacture polyurethane elastomers and need a standard cure catalyst. What dosage of T-12 works?

For cast elastomers, 0.02–0.1 phr (based on total polyol + curative) gives a 5–15 minute demold time at 80°C.

My one-component moisture-cure polyurethane sealant has a short shelf life. How to optimize T-12 level?

Use 0.05–0.1 phr and store under dry nitrogen; higher levels cause premature thickening.

Can MOFAN T-12 be used in silicone RTV-2 condensation systems?

Yes, it is widely used as a condensation catalyst for alkoxy- and acetoxy-silanes.

My polyurethane rigid foam for appliance insulation has poor flow. How does T-12 help?

It balances the gel reaction; use 0.1–0.3 phr together with an amine catalyst to improve flow.

What is the typical tin level (ppm) when using 0.1 phr T-12 in a 100-part polyol system?

Approximately 180–200 ppm of tin (since DBTDL contains ~18% tin).

My PU coating has cratering due to T-12 incompatibility. What can I do?

Pre-dilute T-12 in a small amount of solvent (xylene or butyl acetate) before adding to the formulation.

Can T-12 be used in polyurethane adhesives for laminating flexible packaging?

Yes, but ensure final tin migration is below 50 ppm for food packaging; consider using dioctyltin alternatives.

How does temperature affect T-12 activity?

It is highly active above 60°C; at room temperature, activity is moderate; below 10°C, cure is very slow.

My elastomer has bubbles due to moisture. Can I reduce T-12 to fix this?

Lower T-12 to 0.02 phr and add a moisture scavenger like molecular sieve paste.

Is MOFAN T-12 equivalent to T-12?

Yes, direct drop-in replacement; same activity and physical properties.
