    Description

    Monobutyltin Oxide (MBTO) is a non-corrosive organotin compound, appearing as white or pale yellow powder. Some products have a special odor, are non-hygroscopic, and decompose easily under high temperature conditions. This product is insoluble in water and most organic solvents (such as acetone), but soluble in strong alkalis and acids, with a density of approximately 1.46 g/cm³, a boiling point above 350℃, and a melting point of about 210℃. MBTO is a high-efficiency high-temperature esterification catalyst, widely used in the fields of polyester resin synthesis and plastic processing. 

    Application

    - Polyester Resin Synthesis: Mainly used in the production of saturated polyester resins such as powder coatings, coil (steel) coatings, and insulating varnishes. As a high-efficiency esterification catalyst, it can accelerate the reaction process and improve the quality and performance of resin products.
    - Unsaturated Polyester Resin: Used in the synthesis of unsaturated polyester resins to improve the polymerization efficiency and finished product performance of the resin.
    - Engineering Plastics Production: Used in the synthesis of PBT engineering resins, as well as the preparation of other esterification and transesterification reaction products, to improve the heat resistance and mechanical properties of products.
    - Plastic Processing: Used as a raw material for PVC resin stabilizers to enhance the thermal stability and weather resistance of PVC products; it can also be used as a polyurethane catalyst and organotin intermediate [6].
    - Other Fields: Used as a catalyst for electrophoretic electrodeposition coatings and a basic raw material for the preparation of materials related to the field of nonlinear optics.
